Christmas Day and the Start of New Traditions
Today I decided I would prepare the menu for our Christmas Day. That way if I was going to use a new recipe I could make a practice batch before hand. Our menu is as follows:
Breakfast
Fruity Swiss Muesli
(this is not set in stone, I'm still on the look out for another good breakfast recipe. I'm not sure Luis will like this dish. I'm going to make it this weekend to find out).
Toast
O.J
Dinner
Leg of Lamb ( I'm still working on the recipe)
Greenbeans & shallots
Sweet Potatoes
Herbed Stuffing (I'm also still working on the recipe)
Green Salad w/ an oil, salt and lemon dressing
Dinner Rolls
Dessert
Cookies

Christmas Craft Gone Awry
For the past month I have been dilligently working on Hailey's Christmas present. I has so excited to finish it. At last it was complete. I tried it on Q'Ori to see how it looked. I made it too small. All that work and it won't even fit. It fits Suri. I'm not sure what I did wrong, besides use different yarn than the pattern called for. Anyways, I thought I display the knitted top that I spent so much time working on. Sadly, now I won't have any time to make her something else. I enjoy knitting, even though I am not very fast at it. Here is the picture of my project gone awry. Hopefully the Christmas stocking and Nightgown I'm working on now will not only fit properly, but look good.

Offer on a House
We have been in the process of looking for a house. It's a lot of work, and I'm amazed at how many horrible houses there are out their. Anyways, we found a beautiful house and we are making an offer. The house is a short sale, so it could be a while before we hear anything, but I think this house is worth it. Here are a couple of pictures of the house. The house has 4 bdrm 2 full bath and 1 half bath and is about 2000 sqft.
Novela - Destilando Amor
At our house we love Novelas (Spanish Soap Operas). Here is a picture of Suri and Luis, watching "Destilando Amor" together.

Here is a youtube link to our favorite novela. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgR5-hffOQw This video is the main actress singing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcX_cx96JWs

Q'Orianka and the Scissors
I thought i would share a lovely picture of our Q'Orianka, on Sunday, she got a hold of the scissors that Luis left on the counter after he cut his and Papa Beto's hair. Needless to said she wanted to be just like her papa. Yes, she did cut her hair. Lucky for us. She only cut about 2 or 3 inches of the bottom, and not all the way to the scalp. Here are some pictures from hair incident. I couldn't get mad at her since she was just copying her papa.

Visiting the Farm
We went and visited the farm again. This time Corey was able to come. It was great. It reminds me how much i like wide open spaces. Here are the Angus cows. They weigh about 1200 lbs each. There were so many people on the hay ride that you couldn't get out of the cows way when they were sticking their heads on the straw to get some corn. One cow kept licking a little boys jacket trying find food.

Luke jumping out of the corn to scare Melanie and Me.

Dragon Lars and the burning Peasant
Once upon a time there was a fiercesome Dragon named Lars. Even though he was little for a dragon he could breath fire. He liked to fly around and blow fire on all the lowly peasants. And when he flew he laughed and giggled.

However much fire he blew on these lowly peasants they still couldn't resist the adorable laughing and giggling that happened when he flew and blew fire. And so it was that Lars would catch all the village on fire but he would laugh and giggle and so he was always forgiven.

what we have been up to
About 1 hour north of where we live is a train station that does different things through the year. We went to the Thomas the Train event. They had all the characters dressed up and a gift shop and some exhibits. It was cute. and then we rode the train (which pulled Thomas) The kids loved it. Luke was very excited to go. It was his reward for using the big boy potty!.

I got at the library the other a great video on vaccinations. It really is a good watch and very informative about what we are injecting into our children and the pros and cons of vaccinating.
The video is "Vaccinations? Assessing the Risks and Benefits" by Dr. Jay Gordon. I picked it up at the library.
My Friend posted this on her blog and i got a kick out of it. It is a must watch on the Flu Vaccine.

Luis' Birthday
Lars's Blessing

We were extremely tickled with Lars's blessing outfit. It was awesome. Thanks to our very talented family and friends his outfit was a major success and even got some chuckles out of the congregation.
